![]() ![]() Lunch time is popular at the deli, so go early. This store offers many homemade foods, by their chefs. Overall, its a very nice place to shop for food if you dont mind paying higher prices for the items you can get anywhere and some high quality food that you can only get here. One of their signature acts is carrying your groceries to the car for you, which is very nice if you for some reason have difficulty doing that on your own. The store is always clean and the staff are very helpful. I shop at Highland Park for the food that they make themselves which is absolutely delicious. Yes you can expect to pay a little more here than the local big chain grocery store, but I dont shop here for the items I can get anywhere. I personally feel very comfortable shopping here and Im not a rich old white person with fancy shoes and I hardly ever wear collared shirts. So Im not entirely sure whats wrong with mark, but this is a very nice grocery store. At least there I wont get dirty looks from soccer moms because Im not wearing a collared shirt and fancy shoes. Personally, I feel more comfortable in a Mexican Hacienda than I do here. If you like to rub elbows with the upper rungs of Manchester society, by all means- this is the place for you. Either carry a basket or get a shopping cart. Whats with those baskets they drag around on the floor? Its absolutely retarded looking. I feel under dressed when I walk in there. This is the grocery store for rich old white people. Additionally, they buy local product to sell as much as they can which helps out all of us.ĭont come here if youre a minority. HPM comes out just fine in that comparison.įinally, in this economic climate, we should all be trying to buy more locally and this is a business with deep roots in the community. HPM prices should not be compared to Shoprite for those departments, but to WholeFoods. As for the meat/deli/bakery/produce, you get what you pay for. this week Cabot butter is on sale 2/$5 and Chobani yogurt 10/$10). ![]() As for the prices, I plan my menus and shopping around the weekly sale flyer and think it is very fair pricing for pantry items and basics (e.g. I love the NYC style pizza to go.Īs for Marks comments, I would like to say that while I am what he might consider "an old white person," I am usually stopping in there in my sweaty running clothes and have NEVER had anyone look at me disdainfully because of that. ![]() The prepared foods are delicious and there is a good assortment. The meats are of a quality that cannot be purchased anywhere else in the area. I have been shopping at HPM for over 20 years and wouldnt shop anywhere else. ![]()
